Today, we’re excited to take you behind the scenes of a very special collaboration — the Lovers Lane project. From day one, we partnered with a visionary builder who came to us with a strong design direction and the trust to help bring it to life. Together, we set out to create a modern spec home that felt far from generic. We want to create a home that would feel warm, thoughtful, and completely move-in ready.
This wasn’t about reinventing the wheel. It was about refining every detail to elevate the home beyond builder-basic. From material selections and lighting to thoughtful layering, our goal was to deliver a finished space that feels current, elevated, and completely turnkey for the future homeowner
The Vision
Our approach to the Lovers Lane project began with a simple yet powerful goal: to create a space that felt effortlessly cohesive, warm, and elevated. We began with a mood board that pulled inspiration from natural textures, soft layering, and modern classic elements. From the earliest stages, we knew we wanted the space to feel elevated yet grounded. A home where subtle luxury met everyday comfort.
The design concept came to life through thoughtful finishes and material selections. We leaned into classic subway tiles for their clean, structured look, pairing them with warm wood-look tiles to bring in an organic, earthy touch. This balance of cool and warm tones helped us establish a serene palette that would feel cohesive throughout the home.

Installations & Behind the Scenes
As the Lovers Lane project moved from concept to construction, our site visits became a vital part of bringing the vision to life. These check-ins weren’t just routine. They gave us the chance to see the space evolve in real time, make on-the-spot decisions, and ensure that every detail was aligning with the overall design direction.
One of our key visits was to confirm all of the cabinetry hardware in person. Seeing the finishes against the cabinetry and surrounding materials helped us make sure everything felt cohesive in both style and tone.
We were also on site for tile installation day, which was such an exciting moment. Being there allowed us to walk through layout patterns, double-check placement, and fine-tune grout colors on the spot. It’s one thing to see it all on a mood board, but watching those materials come together in the actual space was incredibly rewarding.
We documented the process through progress photos, from blank walls to layered textures coming to life. Each visit felt like another step closer to the home we had imagined from the very beginning.
Designing the Lovers Lane home was truly a joy from start to finish. From the thoughtful layout choices to the layered textures and bold moments, every detail was a reflection of our client’s personality and the way they love to live. Collaborating on a project with this much heart and creative freedom reminded us exactly why we do what we do. We’re so proud of how this space came together and beyond grateful to have played a part in bringing this vision to life.
While design can often look glamorous from the outside, the behind-the-scenes is filled with hands-on work, creative problem-solving, and countless decisions. But we wouldn’t have it any other way. Every challenge is worth it when we get to create spaces that feel personal, inspiring, and truly lived in.
